Filming #4

Even though it is the half term we have decided to film Bianca's studio 

shots to get them over and done with. Eventually we got all of them done and dusted

although a few of the problems we faced were that, our actor was late and she didn't learn the lyrics (However she did learn them pretty quickly). We had to take some time to figure out 

our lighting but as I said we eventually finished our successful shoot.

Departed Group Member

Unfortunately one of our members, Tyrell has left the group leaving just me and Danyaal. He has spoken to our teacher and she says this is fine. This was due to issues between the group members but thankfully it has been resolved. However he has still decided to carry on being independent with his work. This was very inconvenient for us being he played a good part in our group work and also in our video. Kindly he has agreed to still participate in our music video which saves us the trouble of having to find a new actor to fill his role.

Research and planning

Filming #3

Today we filmed in the TV studio for the first time to shoot my studio shots. Unfortunately Danyaal could not make it however me and Tyrell still managed to be quite productive and get most of what we wanted to shoot done. Before we started we got a quick briefing on how to work the studio which in he too me into the control room. This was to show me how to set all of the lights so I can get the right lighting for the camera. It took us a couple minutes but finally we got there and was ready too shoot. The footage came out well and now all we have to is get Bianca's shoot done.

Trip to Cine Lumiere

Today me and some other media students went on a trip to the BFI London film festival. The film we watched was called "The Assassin" and was approximately an hour and half long. I didn't really find the film interesting at all to be fair, due to the fact that it wasn't in English which meant I had to read the subtitles. It was was a very slow paced film that never hooked me in at the start. The movie we watched last year at the film festival was much more entertaining, thrilling and some what educational.

Filming #2

                                What we did

Yesterday, me and Danyaal shot our first night shots at our location in Queen Elizabeth Park in Stratford. Sadly Tyrell could not be there to film due to an appointment, however we still took the time of to shoot. The majority of the park was empty apart from a few runners and cyclists. We shot the scenes such as for the first few lines of the chorus and the part before Brandy comes into the video. I, the main actor lip synced and acted for a lot of the scenes from our story board. Shots such as the one where I walk into the camera screen and then sit down, while the camera is panning from right to left, as I sit down the camera continues to pan. Another example of a shot we took was, where I walked out of focus on the bridge full of lights.

Problems

One problem we encountered was that as we started filming, we encountered the park security who made it very clear to us that we would be unable to use the tripod. The security man also told us that we could ask for permission for next time, but he doesn't know who we should ask as the park is privately owned by a massive group of people such as MP's and Arabs. Therefore, we had to record the scenes manually, without a tripod. Since the temperature was really low, the video came out slightly shaky, we did manage to film all of the night scenes but with great difficulty. Therefore we might need to go over a few takes again next time.

Call Sheet Progress

Team Meeting #4

Today Tyrell, Danyaal and I had a meeting which looked over what we have completed on our bloggers. To double check about the call sheets ( dates, actors and resources ). Even though the call sheet has been completed it does not seem to be present on our bloggers. Therefore it needs to be uploaded.

First Day of Filming

We started to film over the weekend in the olympic park in Stratford. However we did book a camera from college, but we made a mistake and forgot to take the camera. Luckily we had a friend, Ashaana who was kind enough to let us use her camera and tripod. We didn't manage to finish the shoot but we are going to do another park shoot on Wednesday and Saturday. Unfortunately Danyaal wasn't able to make it due to the fact that we arrived at the location really late.

TV Studio

We will be utilising this studio in college for both Chris Brown 

and Brandy's shots. Even in some occasions they will be in the

same shot simultaneously. The lighting will be low key and

we ill both be wearing all black clothing against a black

backdrop.

Abandoned Site

This area is located in Edmonton by the A406 motorway. This will be used for Brandy's scene and will be used in the day. This will show isolated state of mind during the video.

Bedroom

We will be using this space for Chris Brown's solo shots. the lighting will be low key to set the mood for the video. My bedroom is a great location as it is a intimate setting and it will be able to catch the and portray the emotion of the music video

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

This is where will be shooting our
night time scenes for Chris Brown. These will be a great location as is got a lot of good lighting and scenery that would be great for music video.

Equipment Booking

Today we all decided that we should book a camera and a tripod to film over the weekend. We plan to film the night scenes in Stratford Olympic park and maybe the bedroom scene. This will be the start of our filming of the music video.

Location Release

For three of our locations we gathered the release forms. These locations included, my house, Danyaal's house and the college TV studio which were signed by both me, Danyaal and Vanessa.

Talent Release

We managed to get all of our eight actors to sign the talent release forms. These are to make sure the actors know what to expect when filming and their permission.

Costumes

These pictures represent a few of our costume choices that we decided on,

the will just merely influence what we are going to wear, for example the all black clothing

will be used in the TV studio and the white top and jeans will be used in 

the bedroom. Other items of casual clothing will be used in

locations such South bank and college. 

Group Meeting #3

Me, Danyaal and Tyrell have dicussed what we have left and what we need to do to finish the pre production. We had to get the specific people to add the final touches to the Location Release and the Talent Release by signing them and granting the group with permission. All we have left is to write notes on our storyboard, containing type of shot, location and a quick analytical review of the meaning of the shots.
