Q2 Overview
- In Q1, you will have analysed each product in turn.
- In Q2 you consider how the 3 products work together as a package.
- All three artefacts are promotional tools for a piece of music -> Common themes. Icons, motifs, colour schemes, ideas, representations, throughout the package.

3 steps/ layers to this analysis

*GOODWIN- music video as a category of a media characteristics
- Narrative theories help us to look for more common structures patterns in different stories.
BARTHE- codes: easy codes (action codes e.g clock hands shows times passing or times running out) mysterious codes (enigma codes e.g Control how much information is given to audience e.g if the relationship carries on the past in the music video gives audience pleasure by leaving the, curious)
LEVI STAUSS- most narratives have binary oppositions such as heroes and villains, always tension between the hero and the opposition. E.g wisdom vs youth, law and order vs crime and males vs females.
